Jumbo Offshore boosts Middle East network

Netherlands-based Jumbo Offshore, a privately-owned heavy-lift and offshore installation specialist, is expanding its Middle East operations following an agreement with Sea Horizon Offshore Marine Services that will become its Qatar-based partner in the region.
A recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes Sea Horizon as the Doha-based representative for Jumbo Offshore in projects for clients in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
The agreement comes at a time of buoyant oil and gas activity in the Middle East, as firm energy prices generate more offshore development and underpin markets for service providers along the value chain.
Sea Horizon Offshore’s CEO, Danial Kaabi, commented: "Through this MoU, we will provide the Middle East region with greater access to safe, high quality transport and installation solutions. Jumbo Offshore represents considerable added value to regional operators."
“Currently, much of the transport and installation work carried out in the region is performed using a combination of barge and lifting vessel. Jumbo Offshore’s vessels are ideally suited to perform the entire transport and installation scope from a single platform, offering a significant boost to efficiency,” he added.
Jumbo Offshore ships include its J-class vessels, which have a lifting capacity of 1,800 tonnes. They support operations including topside construction, tight flex-lay, mooring, and module installation.
The company has expertise in a wide range of water depths. In shallow waters, it is experienced in the installation of fixed facilities, including piled foundations, templates, conductors, jackets, and topsides. In deep water, its heavy-lift assets can handle large and complex structures and foundations, including FPSO mooring systems.
