The 30,285gt 2002-built RoPax ferry Atlantic Vision drydocked at Denmark’s Fayard ship repair facility in Munkebo on April 17th after completing a long-term bareboat charter to Canadian ferry operator Marine Atlantic. Owned by Baltic SF IX, a subsidiary of Estonia’s Tallink Grupp, the ferry is now being repaired and upgraded for her next charterer, the details have yet to be announced.

The Atlantic Vision, former Superfast IX, has spent nearly 16 years operating for Marine Atlantic on its various services on the East Coast of Canada. She made her last crossing for the Canadian operator on March 15th at the end of her charter and then crossed the Atlantic from North Sydney to Denmark for her drydocking.

Atlantic Vision has been replaced in the Marine Atlantic fleet by the chartered Stena RoRo E-Flexer Ala’suinu, which arrived in Canada from her Chinese builders on April 20th.

Meanwhile, other vessels undergoing repair at this yard on April 22nd included the following:

  • National Geographic Resolution – 12,786gt 2021-built Polar Class 5 expedition cruise ship, owned by Lindblad Expeditions Holdings Inc.
  • Jaarli – 114,249dwt 2021-built crude oil tanker, owned by Finland’s OSM Ship Management Finland Oy, Vantaa
