Lotos Petrobaltic SA, an offshore energy and mining subsidiary of Poland’s Orlen Group, has ordered a new crew transfer vessel (CTV) at Strategic Marine shipyard in Singapore. The StratCat 27 CTV is due for delivery in September.

The vessel, to be operated by Gdansk-based Technical Ship Management, will join the five-ship fleet managed by Miliana Shipmanagement Ltd, a Lotos Petrobaltic subsidiary. It will be the first unit of this type to be deployed in the Polish offshore wind farm market, the companies said, and will begin by transferring technicians in the North Sea. The StratCat 27 will subsequently move to Polish waters where it will be used for the transfer of personnel in the country’s exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea.

The vessel will meet the latest Tier III emission requirements and has been designed ‘ready’ for a hybrid power installation in the future. The unit will also be adapted with reinforced hull plating for operation in the more severe conditions of the Baltic Sea.

The StratCat 27 is designed to carry offshore personnel in comfort even in difficult weather conditions. It can accommodate up to nine crew members and 24 passengers.
