Stena RoRo to commission another E-Flexer

The eleventh RoPax ship in a series of 15 vessels, Saint-Malo, has been delivered to Stena RoRo AB by Chinese shipyard CMN Jinling (Weihai). The ship has been fixed on long-term charter to French operator, Brittany Ferries, and will be deployed on the route between Portsmouth and Saint Malo from February. It will replace the Bretagne, which has operated on the service since 1987.

Amasus signs up for second b4b wind sail

Netherlands-based short-sea and project cargo specialist, Amasus, has returned to Spanish wind sail developer, bound4blue (b4b), for what will be the world’s largest suction sail system on a general cargo ship so far. The contract comes after the shipping company assessed performance of the first eSAIL® installation on Eems Traveller, which has been sailing with two 17m-high eSAILs since July 2023.

Boluda takes over Finnish tug firm YHB

Rotterdam-based Boluda Towage has boosted its capacity in northern Europe with the acquisition of Finnish harbour towage and icebreaker firm, Yxpila Hinaus-Bogsering (YHB). The Finnish company’s six-ship fleet includes five icebreakers capable of operating in extreme weather conditions.
