Northrop Grumman Corporation christened the eighth submarine of the Virginia class, "California" (SSN 781), at the company's Shipbuilding sector in Newport News, Va.

Two construction support vessels ordered

Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte. Ltd., a Singapore incorporated subsidiary of Greatship (India) Limited (GIL), which is a subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited, has placed an order for two construction support vessels with Colombo Dockyard Limited.

Delivery taken of first new owned MPV

The 18 000 dwt "Safmarine Sumba", with a container capacity of 1,052 TEU, is Safmarine’s first new owned multi purpose vessel (MPV) since it became a member of the A.P Moller-Maersk Group more than 11 years ago.

Change of legal form

Germanischer Lloyd changed its legal form from a German stock corporation ("AG") into a European company "Societas Europaea (SE)".
