Meuse River dredger completes maintenance at BLRT Klaipeda

DEME’s dual-fuel hopper dredger Meuse River has completed a scheduled maintenance stop at BLRT Repair Yards in Klaipeda. The docking included a full overhaul of key systems to prepare the vessel for continued deployment in high-demand dredging operations.
Work carried out covered hull treatment, steel repairs, machinery and propulsion system maintenance, safety upgrades, and servicing of the dredging, piping, and electrical systems. The yard reports the docking proceeded on schedule, with minimal disruption to the vessel’s operational availability.
Originally delivered in 2021, Meuse River is one of DEME’s newer generation of dual-fuel dredgers, capable of operating on LNG. It is deployed on a range of capital and maintenance dredging projects in Europe and internationally.
The vessel’s visit reflects ongoing demand for technical docking services on complex dredging units, particularly as operators prioritise fuel-efficient systems and regulatory compliance. BLRT Klaipeda has handled several such calls in recent years, and the yard continues to invest in capabilities to support hybrid and dual-fuel vessels.
