Anemoi to retrofit rotor sails on NSU Tubarao

NS United Kaiun Kaisha (NSU) will equip the NSU Tubarao, a 361m VLOC (very large ore carrier) built in 2020, with five 35m rotor sails from Anemoi by September 2025. The vessel, chartered by Vale International, aims to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, including CO2, NOx, and SOx, by 6-12% through the installation of the wind-assisted propulsion system.

Manson Construction Co recently completed a major retrofit of its cutter suction dredger, H.R. Morris, at the company’s Seattle yard. The retrofit included the removal of the dredge's main pump, A.C. wound rotor motor, and liquid rheostat, followed by the installation of cutting-edge dredge pump and drive technology.
