Bomin to sell Belgium bunkering operation

The transaction, which is subject to merger clearance, is likely to close on December 31 following which Bomin Belgium will be rebranded. Ronald Somers, CEO of the Somtrans Group, said: “This is a significant time for our family as we look to enter the bunkering market, providing our customers with even more value, and creating the opportunity to build longer-term, partnership-based relationships with them. In acquiring Bomin Belgium we are gaining a valuable operation, founded on integrity, quality, in-depth market knowledge and values, which are wholly attuned to ours.”
Jan Christensen, managing director of the Bomin Group, expressed his pleasure at the signing of the deal and the fact that the employees of Bomin Belgium would be able to continue the business.

The Bomin Group, a 100% subsidiary of Mabanaft GmbH & Co. KG, has announced that it is to sell its Belgian bunkering operation to certain individuals in the Somers family who control the tanker company, Somtrans.
