Yanmar to supply dual-fuel engines for LNG-fuelled coal carrier
Japan’s Yanmar has received an order for dual-fuel engines that will be used to power generators on board a large LNG-fuelled coal carrier to be built at Namura Shipbuilding. The vessel will be operated by Mistui O.S.K. Lines.
The high thermal efficiency 6EY22ALDF-type engines are rated at 800 kW and incorporate load fluctuation tracking and precision air-fuel ratio control technology, Yanmar said in a statement. This ensures that they run constantly with optimal combustion to provide stable and reliable power.
The Japanese engine maker reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its marine engines and would continue to develop clean powertrains to provide optimal systems that meet its customers’ needs.
