Drawing of a type B.Delta bulk carrier

Deltamarin announced a newbuilding contract with CSSC / Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Co. Ltd., China, for type B.Delta25 bulk carriers. It is the first time that vessels of that type will be built.

Deltamarin will procure the basic design, part of the detail design and the technical procurement handling. The 28,000 tdw single-hull bulk carriers will be 175m long and 27m wide with a cargo volume of 37,000m³ and a service speed at design draught of 14 knots. According to Deltamarine, the newbuildings will have a shallow draught and good manoeuvring capabilities, intended for operation in restricted water depths. Furthermore, the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) is said to be 23% less than the requirements to come into force. The work will be carried out at Deltamarin’s offices in Europe and China.
