A high-powered delegation of Sovcomflot (SCF Group) executives and senior personnel from Total attended the recent naming ceremony of SCF Group’s latest LNG carrier, the 174,000m3 SCF La Perouse, at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea.
The ice-class vessel, named after a French explorer of the Pacific, will operate on the Yamal LNG project under a long-term time charter with the oil company in a contract similar to that under which Total’s 172,600m3 Christophe de Margerie is deployed.
SCF La Perouse is an Atlanticmax LNG carrier equipped with a WinGD slow-speed, dual-fuel X-DF engine and gas boil-off partial liquefaction system.
