British shipping company Scotline Marine Holdings has ordered another coastal freighter of about 4,800dwt from Royal Bodewes Shipyard of the Netherlands. The vessel will be almost 90m long and has the newbuilding number 750. It will be named Scot Ranger and will be the third vessel in a series of the type ordered. Start of construction is planned early 2020. It will have Swedish/Finnish ice class 1A.
After the delivery of the first vessel of the series, the Scot Carrier, in November 2018, construction of the second vessel, Scot Explorer, started in February 2019. That ship is expected to be launched in October 2019 with final delivery shortly afterwards. The Scot Explorer features an enclosed bridge wing with a Caterpillar/MaK main engine.
