Pella Sietas to build Lake Constance ferry

The design of the new ferry is based on 2010-built Lodi
The yard won a European Union-wide tender for the vessel issued by Stadtwerke Konstanz, the public utility in Konstanz in south Germany. The ferry will carry over 60 cars and 700 passengers and will operate sailings between Konstanz and Meersburg. The vessel design was orientated on the existing 82m ferry Lodi which was built by shipyard Bodan in 2010. The new ferry will have two single-fuel engines from MTU which will power two Voith Schneider propellers. The vessel will be built in sections by Pella Sietas for transport to Lake Constance for final assembly. The vessel will cost about 18 million euros and will be delivered in February 2020 to the Stadtwerke Konstanz. The order means an expansion into the Lake Constance market for Pella Sietas.
