Norwegian fishing, fish farming and seafood company, Prestfjord AS, has taken delivery of the 77.3m-long stern trawler, Sunderøy, from Spain’s Astilleros Gondan.

The vessel, one of the most advanced of its kind, is the second ship built by Gondan for the Norwegian company. With accommodation for up to 29 persons, the Sunderøy is built to a Kongsberg Maritime design and will fish for cod and prawns, processing them, and freezing them on board. It will be deployed in the northern waters of the Arctic, Barents Sea, and Svalbard archipelago.

The vessel, classed by DNV GL, also has its own fish meal plant and a total hold capacity of 2,250m2.
