New VSAT antenna from Furuno

The launch to the market is scheduled for the first quarter of 2010. This development is brought about through close technical collaboration between Furuno Electric Co., LTD. and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, who will manufacture the antenna.

Furuno has already entered into the field of airtime business for satellite-based, maritime communication with the brand name “SafeComNet” from October 2008 onward. Through “SafeComNet”, Furuno brings to the market the Ku-band VSAT service by which high-speed broadband communications are made available to ocean-going fleet around the globe. Through this technical collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Furuno is now able to provide the customers with the VSAT antenna under the FURUNO brand that is fully satisfies its own quality standard for the maritime communication products, as the company states.
