New vessel from India
ESL Shipping Ltd, Helsinki, has taken delivery of a new, 20,499 dwt vessel from ABG Shipyard Ltd in India. The vessel is owned by SEB Leasing Oy, which has chartered her to ESL under a long-term agreement.
Designed to meet the needs of ESL Shipping’s customers, the new vessel "Alppila" is a 155.69m long and 25.2m wide self-unloading dry cargo ship with three cranes especially built for Baltic Sea operations and to the highest ice class (1A Super). She is equipped for Finnish winter conditions and capable of operating even in the northernmost ports. Cargo can be stowed in three holds.
ESL's other vessels "Eira" and "Credo" as well as the new "Alppila" form the Eira class, which is especially designed for operating in the shallow ports of the Baltic Sea.
