New PLA patrol boat put into operation

"Lambeth"

The aluminium catamarans of the Wave Guardian class are built at the Alnmaritec Ltd., Northumberland. Currently the 13.5 m long and 4.8 m wide "Lambeth" is being trialled so that any necessary iimprovements can be introduced into her sister vessels which are scheduled to be put into service over the coming three years. Two John Deere 6068 marine diesel engines care for a speed of 21 kts.

The Port of London Authority's (PLA) new "Lambeth" is the first of four new port authority patrol boats being built as part of a 2m GBP investment. Each vessel will be named after London Bridges.
