Netherlands-based Multraship has boosted its Bulgarian subsidiary’s fleet with the addition of the Multratug 30, an 80-tonne bollard pull unit built by Sanmar Shipyards. The vessel will operate within the Bourgas Tug Service in the Black Sea.

The 25.3m-long tug, a Robert Allan Ltd TRAktor-Z 2500SX design, is built for both harbour and deep-sea operations. It is equipped with a FiFi 1 firefighting system, including a foam tank of 4.8m3, enabling effective responses to fire incidents. The vessel will boost Bourgas’ harbour and offshore towage capacity, as well as strengthening its salvage and emergency response services.

The mid-November christening ceremony was held at the Bourgas Passenger Terminal and the tug was named by Miglena Pendjuroff, the wife of Dimiter Pendjuroff, general manager of the tug company. The event follows the 20-year anniversary of Multraship’s Black Sea operation.

“This investment reflects our confidence in the Black Sea region and our long-term commitment to serving its growing maritime industry,” declared Leendert Muller, managing director of Multraship. “It’s a region with real potential, and we intend to be at the forefront of its development.”
