MSC Cruises has confirmed orders for the seventh and eighth ship in its World-class series with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, valued at EUR 3.5 billion. The announcement was made during a double celebration at the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, marking the float out of MSC World Asia and the coin ceremony of MSC World Atlantic.
Construction of the new vessels will begin in 2029, with delivery scheduled for 2030 and 2031. The orders bring MSC Cruises’ total investment in France this year to nearly EUR 7 billion, and the company’s total direct investment in World class ships to EUR 10.5 billion.
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises’ Cruise Division, highlighted the World-class series as a symbol of the company’s commitment to energy efficiency and future-ready LNG propulsion.
