A keel-laying ceremony has taken place at Pella Sietas in Hamburg to mark the keel-laying of Abeking & Rasmussen’ largest-ever motor yacht. Construction of the 118m-long yacht will benefit from various technological innovations to optimise the production process, the shipbuilders said.
New laser welding technology, developed jointly by Abeking & Rasmussen and Berlin-based Photon will produce a smoother hull and minimise re-working, according to the companies. Built to a Joseph Dirand Architecture design, the yacht will feature a range of tenders, water toys and a submarine. Its Neptune Lounge and a large swimming pool are amongst the many facilities on board.
Cornelsen & Partner is representing the interests of the owner during construction.
