Greek tug operator expands fleet

The Christos 73 is the latest addition to Igmar's fleet

Turkish shipbuilder Med Marine has delivered the RAstar 2800 series support tug Christos 73 to Igmar, a member of Greece’s Spanopolous Group.

With a length of 28m, a breadth of 13m and a bollard pull of 75 tonnes, Christos 73 is set to facilitate “the effortless execution of a diverse array of challenging task”, according to a statement by Med Marine.  It has been constructed as a multi-purpose tug, working off a forward winch and an aft winch for ship handling, towing, pushing, mooring, fire-fighting and is also equipped with an aft towing hook.

The tug offers capacity for a crew of eight persons and achieves a speed of 12 knots.
