Gertsen & Olufsen establishes office in China

We experience a growing interest for our greenship technology from an increasing number of Chinese shipyards and operators,” said Thorsten Larsen-Seul, managing director at Gertsen & Olufsen A/S. The Danish company is among the world’s leading companies when it comes to biological waste water treatment and electronic vibration compensation. Recently, China Shipping, a Chinese state-owned shipping company, placed an order for electric vibration compensators to be installed in eight 300,000 dwt VLOC’s presently under build at Dalian Shipyard in the so-called Disc 3000-project. “Our presence in Shanghai will further strengthen our possibilities of tapping into the growing market for shipboard and offshore installations in China,” Larsen-Seul said. Also recently, the Danish company teamed up with U.S.-based EnSolve Biosystems announcing a distribution agreement under which the Danish company will market and sell EnSolve’s PetroLiminator®, a biological oily water separator, alongside its own DNV IMO-approved biological sewage plant Bioreactor for black and grey water treatment.
“The agreement permits us to offer a full suite of ‘all-green’ treatment solutions for bilge, black and grey water,” Larsen-Seul said. At present, the newly established Shanghai office operation counts two people.

The Danish maritime specialist company Gertsen & Olufsen A/S has established an office operation in Shanghai in order to tap into the growing Chinese market for shipboard and offshore technology.
