Everllence secures order for offshore tugs in Guyana

Everllence has secured an order from a Turkish shipyard for 16 diesel generator sets of its 175D type. The gensets will power four Rampage 6000 DE offshore terminal tugs designed by Robert Allen.
The vessels will be operated by Smit Lamnalco, a Boskalis company, in Guyana’s Stabroek Block, where they will support an FPSO fleet. Their duties will include towing, safety and logistics services, dynamic positioning and maintenance operations.
Each tug will be equipped with four gensets: two 12-cylinder 12V175D-MEL engines with an output of 2,280 kW each and two 16-cylinder 16V175D-MEM engines delivering 2,560 kW each.
The first shipset is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, with the remaining three to follow during 2027. Smit Lamnalco said it had selected Everllence because of the engine’s reliability, technical support, fuel and lubricating-oil efficiency, as well as extended overhaul intervals.
According to Everllence, the order underlines the growing success of the 175D engine in the tug and offshore sectors. The engine range is available in 12-, 16- and 20-cylinder versions, with outputs ranging from 1,500 to 4,400 kW. It is designed for low fuel consumption and can already operate on biofuels such as FAME and HVO.
