DNV announces new cruise setup in London

DNV has opened a new London Cruise Centre (LCC) based in the classification society’s office in the UK capital. It is intended to strengthen support for cruise ship owners, operators, ports and yards, throughout Europe and beyond.

DNV noted that cruise ship owners and operators focus on innovation and technological developments including new vessel designs, alternative fuels, the drive for improved energy efficiency, digital integration, and cyber resilience.

“The UK is emerging as one of the world’s most important hubs for the cruise market,” DNV said in a statement announcing the LCC.

Head of the Centre, Alberto Manfredini, commented: “Cruise is changing fast – with greener fuels, new propulsion systems, advanced digital tools, and more complex and demanding regulations setting new expectations. This means that as DNV we need new ways of making sure our customers can access the services they require in the way they need them.
