Netherlands-based Acta Marine has taken delivery of the Acta Pegasus, the first in a series of four walk-to-work construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) with DP2 station-keeping ability. The vessels are being built at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey and are based on Ulstein’s twin X-Stern hull design which reduces pitching and rolling and yields more operational uptime.

The vessel has dual-fuel engines capable of operating on marine gasoil or a blend of MGO and methanol. Other features include a battery energy storage system, a 3D motion-compensated crane with a capacity of six tonnes, and a motion-compensated gangway allowing the safe transfer of personnel in wave heights up to three metres.

Acta Pegasus is to operate under the company’s French subsidiary, Acta Marine France, and will fly the French flag. The vessel will be based in Montoir-de-Bretagne close to the Bay of Biscay and will support offshore wind projects in French waters.

High-grade accommodation is provided in 88 cabins for up to 135 persons. There is a modern restaurant, lounges, gyms, a sauna and smart Wi-Fi connectivity throughout.

Rob Boer, Acta Marine CEO, commented: “The arrival of Acta Pegasus marks a new standard for sustainable walk-to-work vessels, featuring environmentally friendly technologies such as green methanol dual-fuel engines that significantly reduce CO2 emissions. We are currently mobilising the vessel and making final preparations to deploy the vessel to her first project.”

The other three CSOVs in the quartet will following during 2026: the Acta Hercules during the first quarter; and the Acta Gemini and the Acta Aquarius between April and June.
