Russian energy supplier Gazprom has plans to place orders at Russian shipbuilding plants to produce marine equipment for the continental shelf development, LNG and CNG transportation.

Two onboard LNG regasification plant installations of Hamworthy plc, Poole, are to undergo gas trials this summer, one on a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for Brazil, the other on a shuttle regasification vessel (SRV) destined for the US.

The main purpose of the agreement signed between United Industrial Corporation (OPK), Russia, and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), South Korea, is to establish a cooperation which will include the mutual developing of shipbuilding projects, equipments and the designing of vessels.
