New roro service between Norway and Denmark
The first sailing will take place on 25th of February 2011 and will operate on a rolling alternate day departure from each port with an overnight crossing.
The service is initially backed by a contract with Siemens for transport of 26-32 windmills for the Høg-Jæren project. It is, however, Sea-Cargo’s intention to continue the service also following the completion of this agreement. The new line between Egersund and Esbjerg will complement the existing twice weekly service to/from Bergen, Risavika and Esbjerg – and will provide the area with a new and modern high frequency solution effectively bringing the entire “south west coast” closer to mainland Europe.
