Three 252 stingray class DP2 vessels to be delivered

Bordelon Marine Inc, provider of marine transportation services to the oil and natural gas industry, has announced the expected delivery of the “Connor Bordelon” for January 2013.

It is the first of three 252 stingray class series DP2 platform supply vessel (PSV) newbuildings. The USA-flagged units will be 76.8m long and 15.9m wide with a draught of 5.5m. A Cummins QSK 60-M Tier III main propulsion system and 220 hp Schottel type 1215 Z-drives provide power for a maximum speed of 14 knots. Each newbuilding has cargo capacities for 599.6cm³ of fuel oil, 113.3cm³ of bulk mud and 1,537cm³ of liquid mud in three separate systems. In addition, they can hold 461.4cm³ of potable water. All systems are automated and controlled from the bridge. Accommodation is available for 40 people. The vessels, which are SOLAS-classed, will be built at the Bordelon Marine Shipyard in Houma, LA, USA.
