Norwegian yard Havyard said it has an order for the design and construction of a 58.5m-long wind farm service vessel for Danish offshore contractor ESVAGT.

The vessel is a Havyard 831 L SOV which has accommodation for 36 personnel and will be delivered in the first quarter of 2021. The vessel will operate for the wind power company MHI Vestas at the offshore windfarm Moray East in British waters.
This will be the eighth Havyard design and the sixth wind farm service vessel to be fitted out by Havyard Ship Technology. The next generation of offshore wind farms are being built further away from the coast, which increases the need for special vessels, Havyard said.
