Bourbon signs five-year crewboat deal
Marseille-based Bourbon has signed a five-year contract with Eni Congo to renew its crewboat fleet. The charter will involve the deployment of six new latest-generation S200X-G2 vessels to be delivered between June and December 2026. Six front-runners will be deployed until the new boats are commissioned.
The new vessels will have significantly improved fuel consumption. As a result of optimised hydrodynamic design, efficient engines, and real-time energy performance monitoring systems, they are likely to yield fuel savings of about 20% compared with earlier vessels, the company said.
The 20m-long boats will have seating capacity for 30 persons with features including USB sockets, air conditioning and large screens. They will also have 25m2 of foredeck space for small luggage consignments, and an improved bridge with better visibility and improved ergonomics for pilots.
Bourbon Mobility CEO, François Leslé, commented: “This strategic contract confirms our ability to provide reliable, innovative and responsible marine solutions. With this new fleet, we are reinforcing our commitment to offshore mobility that is more sustainable, more efficient and perfectly aligned with the expectations of our major customers.”
The six new vessels will operate on the Italian energy company’s offshore fields, support two floating LNG units. They will receive operational support from Bourbon Congo.
