Bourbon IMR vessel deployed offshore India
Designed for deepwater operations, the vessel is beginning its first long-term contract off the Indian coast

The Bourbon Evolution 810, an inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) vessel and the latest in the Bourbon Evolution 800 series, has embarked on deepwater operations off the Indian coast. The adaptable 800 series vessels are designed to work at water depths of up to 3,000m.
The latest vessel retains the main features of its sisterships but has upgrades to its DP3 dynamic positioning systems, propulsion control and power generation management arrangements. It will be deployed on ROV operations, surveying and construction services.
The vessel has two active heave compensated cranes of 40 tonnes and 150 tonnes capacity, a 1,200m2 deck that includes 230m2 of mezzanine space, fire-fighting equipment and oil spill response gear. Up to 105 people can be accommodated in 69 cabins.

The company emerged from a long-term restructuring process early this year and is now owned by private equity interests.
