Strong growth for Guangzhou container volume

The port handled 5.99 million TEU, a growth of 36.4 percent year on year. This growth was strongly supported by the Nansha port area, which handled 76.2 percent more containers compared with the same period of last year, the report says.

Guangzhou port container throughput growth in the first half of this year now ranks first in the world, Xinhua reports.
