ICTSI Syria to get new cranes

TICT quay cranes on their way to Tartous

The cranes will be the first of their kind to be used in the Port of Tartous.  Purchased by the Tartous Port General Company, the equipment is expected to upgrade TICT’s container handling capability to a higher level with a view of making it the leading trading gateway in Syria.

The cranes are specifically designed to efficiently load and discharge ISO containers and can service five lanes of traffic on the quayside and 13 containers across on the ship with a working outreach of 38 meters. The cranes can also be fitted with a twin lift spreader for greater ship working productivity. The new equipment, manufactured by Konecranes, are fitted with sophisticated energy efficient drive and anti-sway system to enhance the operational performance of the crane.

Tartous International Container Terminal jsc (TICT), subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), Philippines, is set to take delivery of two new quay cranes.
