Grovfjord to build second offshore drilling catamarn for Multiconsult

Monday, 26 Nov 2018

Norwegian yard Grovfjord Med. Verksted has an order for an offshore drilling/geological survey vessel from Norwegian customer Multiconsult AS.

It will be delivered in April 2019 and will be 14.99m long and 6.8m wide. The catamaran will be the second boat the yard has delivered to Multiconsult. The
vessel will be used for surveys involving seabed drilling. It will be equipped with crane and winches for positioning.
The Scania main engines and Hamilton units will give the vessel a speed of at least 20 knots. The drilling boat will largely undertake work off the north of Norway, but will also be capable of work with the other drilling
vessels throughout Norwegian waters.
