Monday, 09 Jul 2018

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has won another order to build a liquefied natural gas floating storage and regasification unit (LNG-FSRU) from Maran Gas Maritime, part of Greece’s Angelicoussis shipping group.

The 173,400cu.m LNG-FSRU will be 295m long and 26m wide and will be delivered in the first half of 2021. Although Daewoo did not disclose the value of the order, analysts estimated it would be worth some US$206 million. Angelicoussis has ordered a total of 100 vessels from Daewoo worth a combined US$11 billion since 1994.
