Posidonia 2020 is cancelled

The international trade fair Posidonia has been cancelled for this year. This has now been announced by the trade fair organiser, Posidonia Exhibitions SA. The industry event originally planned for June had been postponed to October due to the Corona pandemic. After consultation with exhibitors and representatives of the maritime industry and evaluation of the current global pandemic situation, it was decided to cancel Posidonia 2020.

According to the organisers, the worrying increase in Covid-19 cases in certain countries makes it impossible to reliably predict the development of the pandemic. In addition, the shipping of exhibits and restrictions on global travel pose major challenges for international exhibitors and visitors. Last but not least, many trade fair participants are not able to enter Greece. The meeting of representatives of Greek and international maritime industries, the personal exchange, also within the framework of numerous events accompanying the trade fair, is one of the essential features of Posidonia, the organisers said. They are now focusing on the next Posidonia, which is to take place in June 2022.
