Germany’s Schottel Group, a specialist in the design and engineering of propulsion and steering systems, has completed a restructuring of its Nordic presence, with the merging of Schottel Norway AS and Frydenbø Schottel Nordic AS under Schottel Nordic AS.
The new set-up is headed by Jan Helge Telseth, located in in Bergen.
The headquarters for service products will continue to be located in Gardermoen where straightforward logistics and the easy dispatch of service engineers provide an efficient arrangement. There will continue to be workshop facilities for thruster overhauls and appropriate warehouse space there. The general manager of Service and Upgrades will be Petter Lund Hansen. Meanwhile Idar Hatløy will be sales manager located in Ulsteinvik.
The reorganisation comes as part of a plan for strategic expansion in the Norwegian and Nordic markets, Schottel said, describing the market as a ‘strong trend-setting maritime environment’. The new structure will enable the company to operate from Norway with international reach to consolidate further its global network.
