MAN PrimeServ opens new service station in Zhoushan

The new facility is the first to be set up in collaboration with a local shipyard and is located within the yard itself. It is a feature of the service agreement signed between the engine firm and Xinya during Marintec China last year.
The service station will be staffed by four engineers, one sales manager and four fitters and is equipped to meet MAN’s needs with a 10-tonne overhead crane, a dynamic balancing machine, honing machine and lathe. Repair and service projects will be undertaken on board ships calling at the yard as well as overhaul services for diesel engines, propellers and turbochargers.
Jeffrey Ang, managing director of MAN Energy Solutions China and head of Asia Pacific Engine & Marine Systems, spoke at the opening ceremony on July 18th. “Customer-oriented service is the key to our PrimeServ business,” he said. “The launch of the new PrimeServ service station will ensure a more prompt service for ship owners calling at Xinya Shipyard for dockings and repairs.”

MAN PrimeServ has opened a new service station in cooperation with Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard Co. Ltd, the largest privately owned shipyard in China.
