Viking Moorings, a Stavanger based provider of total mooring solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, today launched its new ‘fibre in bag’ solution - a complete fibre rope storage system which will enable the fibre rope and the buoy in a pre-set mooring application to be stored safely on the seabed until mobilisation (the fibre rope will be stored in a bag).

LM Wind Power Blades, Kolding, will deliver its 61.5 meter blades for the 48 REpower 6M type wind turbines which will be installed as part of phase II and III of the Thornton Bank Offshore Wind Farm. The 144 LM 61.5P2 blades will be supplied from LM Wind Power’s facility in Lunderskov, Denmark.

Japanese shipowner NYK has decided to invest in Knutsen Offshore Tankers ASA (KOT), Haugesund, Norway, which will result in NYK owning 50 percent of KOT’s total capital. Following this investment, KOT’s name will change to Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers AS.

The Government of Canada has announced names for two of the Canadian Coast Guard’s new mid-shore patrol vessels.

Singapore based Swiber Holdings Limited, an integrated construction and support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, announced the official launch of "Swiber PJW3000" – 3000MT Derrick Pipe-lay Barge (“DPB”), which was held at the ASL Marine shipyard.
