Sustainable CTV design launched at WindEnergy

UK-based ship design consultancy, BMT, and shipbuilder, Strategic Marine, chose WindEnergy Hamburg to unveil a new crew transfer vessel (CTV) design. The StratCat35, with a length of 35m, has a BMT Z-bow for good seakeeping in harsh conditions, a large working deck, and more storage space than earlier designs.

Contract awarded for offshore infrastructure service

SeaRenergy has been awarded a multi-year contract by Siemens Energy to provide offshore infrastructure services for a minimum of 13 converter platforms – nine in the German Bight, starting with BorWin5, and four in the UK sector of the North Sea. The scope of work covers integrated onshore and offshore logistic and support services, which will be executed throughout the commissioning phase of the platforms, including the provision of a platform supply vessel (PSV).

Strategic Marine wins fast crew boat deal

Singapore-based Strategic Marine has won a deal to build a new high-speed crew transfer vessel designed by Aircat for Malaysia’s fast crew boat operator, Centus Marine Sdn Bhd. The new personnel transfer vessel, based on the proven AIRCAT 35 Crewliner platform, will be designed to achieve exceptional speeds exceeding 50 knots while ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.

Joint venture orders four special-purpose offshore vessels

Cyprus-based Schoeller Holdings and Deutsche Offshore Schifffahrt have set up a joint venture to own and commercially manage four construction commissioning service operation vessels (C-CSOVs) ordered in China. The four vessels, contracted at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., are due for delivery from early in 2027 and will be managed by Columbia Shipmanagement, a Schoeller group company.

Partners to collaborate on offshore blue ammonia production

Energy engineering and construction firm McDermott and BW Offshore have revealed that they will work together to produce blue ammonia offshore on a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility. Offshore production of the low-carbon energy source has a range of strategic benefits, including environmental, health and safety, schedule certainty, and competitive levelised cost of ammonia, the partners said.

Damen to build support vessels for stock

Damen Shipyards has embarked on a project to build three shallow-draught multipurpose support vessels at Albwardy Damen shipyard in Sharjah, UAE. The shipbuilder, which has a strategy of building for stock, does not get have clients for the vessels. But this approach enables standard vessels to be adapted to meet customers’ needs during construction relatively quickly and has proved successful many times before.

Eco-catamaran commissioned in Adriatic Sea

Swiss clean technology company, Bcomp, and Croatian boatbuilding specialist, Marservis, have announced the start of ferry services in the Adriatic Sea using a solar-powered ferry party constructed with natural fibre composites. The vessel, partly built with Bcomp’s flax-fibre composite, ampliTexTM, is the result of 30 months of collaboration between the two companies.
