Crowley signs up EcoVadis for sustainability review

Florida-based shipping, energy and logistics Crowley has signed up business sustainability ratings provider, EcoVadis, to assess and monitor its value chain relating to suppliers’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.

The move follows the publication of the company’s inaugural sustainability report in June and is part of its strategy to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. It also comes after Crowley’s successful deployment of Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud technologyto analyse and measure emissions across its entire value chain.

Crowley’s priorities will be adopting low- to zero-carbon fuels and supporting new energy development, increasing talent diversity, growth and retention; and supporting people and communities, the company said.

Jean Matthews, Crowley’s vice president, Procurement, said: “EcoVadis is the leading authority for assessing and improving sustainability in the value chain, and Crowley is excited to start using the platform to achieve our shared ambition for a cleaner, more sustainable planet using verified assessments. By fostering more responsible business practices, together we can help our customers, contractors, vendors and our people in each of our communities have a better tomorrow.”
