Abu Dhabi’s Port Khalifa expansion on track

Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP) has announced that the expansion of the Khalifa Port is on pace for completion. Phase 1 of ADP’s Logistics and South Quay project is set to be commissioned during the first quarter of 2021. By then, the port’s container throughput will have reached five million TEUs.
So far, 200m of quay wall and 175,000m2 of supporting land have already been handed over, in advance of completion. Meanwhile, construction of Khalifa’s South Quay continues and is scheduled for completion during the last quarter of this year. A total of 650m of quay wall, with two berths, and 37,000m2 of terminal yard is already available. Five new container cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 90 tonnes, have also been delivered.
