RollDock and SAL set up heavy lift pool

RollDock and SAL Heavy Lift have formed a new alliance

The two companies will join forces and work together on RoRo and float-in/float-out heavy lift cargoes. The pool will be operated by RollDock, which will contribute five of the six vessels, and a strengthened global network will mean that the pool has representation in all major regions. Both companies will continue to operate other vessels independently, outside of the pool.
RollDock CEO, Paul Könst, said: "Both SAL and RollDock stand for superior shipping solutions in their respective fields where we place the engineering part of our work at the forefront. Our companies share the same philosophy on client focus, quality, innovation and safety. With our pool, we will be offering a competitive yet high quality heavy transport service.”
"Between RollDock and SAL, we quickly saw the advantages of working together,” said Martin Harren, SAL’s managing director. "Through a consolidation, we will see a better utilisation of the vessels and because we share a network of offices and agents, we can offer global representation of heavy shipping disciplines.”

A new alliance between RollDock and SAL Heavy Lift will see a new six-ship pool for geared dock vessels in operation from the beginning of April.
