Swath crew transfer vessel to be built for Offshore Windservice

Monday, 06 Nov 2017

Norwegian yard Oma Baatbyggeri AS has an order from Offshore Windservice AS for one 32m-long crew transfer vessel with Swath format.

The contract includes two options for repeat vessels. The first vessel has the yard number 539 and will be built for operation under the Danish flag. It will be used for transport of service personnel for offshore wind turbines and is specially designed in cooperation with Hovudeigar - Odfjell Wind AS in Bergen. The vessel is the first of a new concept which combines high-speed with a low draught. This enables the vessel to sail over pipelines, which ensures the transfer of personnel between boat and wind turbines in high seas. The vessel will operate in North Sea. Service speed will be up to 35 knots and the up to 60 people will be carried.
