CMA CGM in talks for new 22,000-TEU vessels

Hyundai Heavy Industries also said it is one of two main bidders to build container ships of 22,000 TEU, which would be the world’s largest boxships.

Brokers say French shipping group CMA CGM is negotiating with Hyundai Heavy Industries and a Chinese yard about the order which could be signed in August. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is said to be the Chinese yard. The ships would be capable of conversion to liquefied natural gas (LNG) propulsion.
